Are you looking for a serious audiophile quality set of earbuds and don't want to be bothered with ANC? If so, look no further than Grado's recently announced GT220 true wireless ear buds.
- Bluetooth: 5.0
- Battery Life: 36 hours
- Headphone Battery: 6 hours; 50mAH
- Case Battery: 5 full charges; 500mAH
- Charging: USB-C, Wireless; 2 Hours
- Codec: aptX, AAC, SBC
- Frequency Response: 20Hz~20KHz
- Nominal Impedance: 32ohms
According to Grado, the GT220 supports the aptX, AAC, and SBC codecs, and sports a high frequency response that is natural without any stridency. The midrange response is neutral and musical without any coloration, and the bass is definitive with excellent extension. Driver size is unknown at this time, but it looks like Grado has spent a great deal of time tuning and fitting their signature mini-drivers for these TWS headphones.
The GT220 features a bifurcated capacitive touch system: the left side controls phone & voice, while the right side controls music playback. With a twist to lock, the GT220 can create a tight seal in your ear which plays a major role in sound reproduction. Grado also included full volume control for those times when you don’t feel like taking your phone out.
Battery Times & Charging
Thankfully, it seems Grado placed a strong emphasis on overall battery life. The GT220 will provide up to 6 hours of continuous play time and the case (500 mAH) will expand that to over 36 hours without a charge. That's over five recharges before you have to charge the case itself. Finally, the GT220 case can be fully recharged in two hours via a standard USB-C cable or a 10w wireless stand.
